Lancaster County's Newest Visitor Destination Celebrates First Anniversary
Turkey Hill Experience has welcomed thousands in first year,
Announces milestone by inviting public to join in the celebration
COLUMBIA, Pa. (May 29, 2012) Just one year ago on June 4, 2011, Mid-Atlantic's newest visitor destination - the Turkey Hill Experience - opened its doors and has welcome more than 100,000 visitors. To commemorate this milestone, Turkey Hill Experience is inviting the public to share in the fun with a day-long celebration from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 3rd.
"The opening of the Turkey Hill Experience has been a labor of love for the team at the Turkey Hill Dairy, especially for me," said Quintin Frey, President of Turkey Hill Dairy. "With 80 years of family history surrounding the Dairy, we worked hard to design a great learning experience that tells our history to visitors of all ages."
In addition to a special Turkey Hill Dairy Premium Ice Cream flavor being created specifically for the event, visitors at the birthday celebration will also enjoy a free ice cream sundae bar and cake. The Turkey Hill Giant Cow and Turkey Hill Minit Market Fun Team will be present for the celebration, as well as members of Turkey Hill Dairy's Executive Team.
Children of all ages will enjoy birthday-themed puzzles and games, free balloons and a chance to spin the Turkey Hill Experience prize wheel. Birthday visitors will also have a chance to win giveaways each and every hour throughout the day, including a birthday package at the Turkey Hill Experience and a year's supply of Turkey Hill products.
"We are proud to celebrate the newest endeavor to the Turkey Hill Dairy," said Frey, "and look forward to sharing the Dairy's history with many more visitors in the coming year."
The Columbia, Pa.-based Turkey Hill Experience features 26,000 square feet of interactive exhibits located in the restored former Ashley & Bailey Silk Mill. Its large interactive exhibit areas allow visitors to learn more about Turkey Hill's history, Lancaster County's rich agricultural heritage, and how the Dairy's top-selling ice cream and iced tea flavors are selected and created. Visitors also have the chance to participate in exhibits that allow you to make your own ice cream commercial, name your own ice cream flavors and discover what your favorite tea flavor says about your personality.
